I am happy and excited to announce the selected participants for the 2021 edition of the TLEG (The League of Extra-Ordinary Gentlemen) mentorship fellowship program. In my post on 24th April 2021, I shared my excitement about the opening of the application. We started receiving applications on 1st May 2021.

The mentorship program is an annual program that runs for 24 weeks. Application opens from May 1 and closes on June 30 each year. Mentoring sessions begin in July and end in December each year. All candidates interested in the mentorship program are to apply via an application portal that uses their details to decide their eligibility. Successful candidates are then paired with mentors who will guide them on different topics all through the program.

Mentors will make a final recommendation on each mentee after the completion of the program.
A mentee can be recommended for a scholarship, business funding, or further assistance. Applications for the 2021 edition closed on 30th June 2021, mentees have been matched with their mentors, and the mentoring sessions have since commenced.

Below are the 2021 fellows:

ThankGod Oche Isaac

ThankGod is a 22-year-old graduate of Agriculture, Department of Animal Sciences from the University of Abuja. During his final year session in school, he enrolled in photography training where he acquired the skill of becoming a professional photographer. His goal is to be an established professional photographer while using part of his ROI to raise sufficient capital to practice animal production.

Fulfilling these goals as a professional Photographer and an established Animal Agriculturist will enable him to provide employment opportunities in his immediate community and nation at large.

ThankGod is a gifted pianist and enjoys listening to good music.

Michael Olutayo Dideoluwa

Michael is currently a secondary school teacher and he has helped academically challenged students to succeed in terminal exams such as the Common Entrance, WAEC,  and JAMB.

With a national diploma in Computer Science and a B.Sc/B.Ed in Biology from Obafemi Awolowo University, Michael wants to employ the use of technology to transform the learning experience of his students and other young people across the country.

Emmanuel Ifedayo Fagbolagun

Emmanuel is a 26-year-old graduate of Geography and Planning Science from Ekiti State University. After his education, he didn’t bother searching for a job because he knew what he wanted. His love for entrepreneurship became a driving force that brought about numerous business ideas, some for the long term and some already in existence.

He currently owns a registered and growing laundry and cleaning business in Abuja and also sells agricultural produce (Palm oil).

His goal is to become one of the biggest entrepreneurs coming out of Africa. He wants his brands to be well-known all over the world.

He enjoys talking to and learning from successful entrepreneurs, listening to audiotapes of successful entrepreneurs around the globe, and reading motivational & business books.

Over the next 24 weeks, they will be immersed in discussions and learning with their mentors. The final product of these weeks is firstly to create a 5-year plan for themselves, on which they will build all they aspire to be. And secondly, is to have these men built and ready to take on the future.

I am very excited about what’s to come for these men.
